Piera is from Sardinia, a beautiful island off the western coast of Italy. As a young girl, she loved art and painting, and after studying to become a make-up artist, she made her way to the top beauty salons in Rome. Her talent was quickly recognized by private clients and major fashion photographers, and she went on to work with leading fashion magazines, major designers, TV producers and fashion shows. As head make-up artist for fashion shows in Rome and Milan, she was responsible for recruiting other make-up artists and working with designers as a creative consultant. She has also appeared on fashion and beauty programs on Italian TV and radio, and developed and presented workshops at make-up schools in Rome. Piera has worked behind the scenes at Fashion Week in New York, making up celebrities such as Katherine Zeta Jones and Katie Couric with Olympus photographer Timothy Greenfield Sanders.
Piera has worked extensively in fashion as well as with celebrities, brides, and private clients over the past 15 years. She works in all genres of make-up including the ultra-natural, the sophisticated, and the glamorous, yet she approaches each make-up as a unique study of the face, accentuating the natural qualities of each individual, while masking imperfections. Clients especially appreciate her original technique: creating a soft, natural base that produces a look of freshness and light.
